When I founded the Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief in 2006, we wanted to rely exclusively on volunteers. We wanted our mission to resonate, and we wanted people to want to work with us without compensation. Ten years later, we have more than 400 volunteers around the world. Admittedly, we have three paid employees in Armenia, but only because we have grown so tremendously. Globally, we remain a purely volunteer organization.
The recruitment and management of volunteers is an essential issue for non-profit organizations and is increasingly being included in strategic plans. Volunteer development is a long term investment and commitment. Volunteers are our strength, and the science to volunteer development can strengthen your organization with virtually no financial investment. Find out how!
